Welcome to Curling Canada’s Stepping Stones Under-9 Curling Program!

This program is designed to give curling clubs a framework for the U9 curler’s skill development. If these skills are taught early, they will grow through the years with a good base to build on. This program is targeted for kids who have already tried curling at least a few times and understand some basics of the game.

While teaching proper skills is important, it is essential kids enjoy the process and find success early. If this is achieved, they will look forward to their time on the ice each week and will want to continue curling as they advance in age and ability. This program uses half sheets through the use of portable hacks to encourage good technical skills while at the same time ensuring the curlers find success early. This will result in a more positive outcome and an early path to sound curling technique.
