In March of 1987, it was announced that Irene Konkin of Yorkton, Saskatchewan had been inducted into the Curling Hall of Fame. Mrs. Konkin, who has served curling in many ways, was named in the builder category. From 1971-1985 she served continuously on the Saskatchewan Ladies Curling Association Council, including a term as President in 1985. She was appointed as the CLCA representative to the International Curling Federation in 1982 and held the position until 1985.
