From 1976 until 1990 Trish Dwyer was part of the most successful skip-third combination in Newfoundland curling history. Playing third to Sue-Anne Bartlett’s Labrador City foursome, Trish participated in the 1976, 78,79, 80, 81, 85, 86 and 1990 Canadian women’s curling championships. In national appearances the team reached the final game in 1981 and again in 1985 but in both instances Dwyer and her mates finished second. Only one other curler has participated in the Canadian women’s championship more times than Dwyer and that is her former skip, Sue-Anne Bartlett, who with an appearance in 1992, holds the record at 12. In 1979 Trish and her mates were named Newfoundland/Labrador team of the year. Other honours include1985 induction into Newfoundland Curling Hall of Fame, 1986 Labrador female athlete of the year and 1990 Newfoundland curling coach of the year.
