Born in Neepawa, Manitoba, Pat Sanders first came to prominence at the national level playing third for Victoria’s Steve Skillings in 1985, when British Columbia captured the Canadian Mixed crown.

In 1987, Sanders skipped her Victoria-based team to the Scott Tournament of Hearts title, defeating Manitoba’s Kathy Elwood. Later that year, she won the World crown, defeating Germany’s Andrea Schöpp in the final.

In 2008, Sanders skipped British Columbia’s Cheryl Noble, Roselyn Craig and Christine Jurgenson to the Canadian Senior Women’s title with a win over Ontario’s Ann Pearson. A year later, the foursome downed Switzerland’s Renate Nedkoff to capture the 2009 World Senior Women’s gold medal.

In 2010, playing second for Jurgenson, Sanders claimed her second Canadian Seniors title with a win over New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon, following it up with a victory at the Worlds over Sweden’s Ingrid Meldahl in 2011.

In 2018, Sanders claimed her fifth Canadian curling title by skipping her team of third Lorraine Gagnon, second Sherry Findlay and lead Roselyn Craig to victory over Saskatchewan’s team of skip Delores Syrota with a score of 8-4 to capture the Canadian Masters Women’s Curling Championship.
