WEATHER FORCES CHAMPIONSHIP TO POSTPONE SUNDAY’S GAMES

The Canadian Under-18 Curling Championship has gotten off to a rocky start due to travel problems caused by snowstorms across the country.

Several teams were late arriving, while – as of Sunday afternoon – some had not yet touched down in Saskatoon, prompting the event organizers to delay the start of the event.

Sunday should have seen four full draws of curling, featuring 42 teams from across the country, but instead, teams – some coming straight from the airport – were only able to practice on the competition ice.

Sunday’s games were moved to Monday, and the rest of the schedule has been re-worked allowing for late-arriving teams to play the full slate of round robin games. The updated draw can be found here or by looking at http://curling.ca/scoreboard.

Parts of the festivities did take place Saturday night, with a player social, icebreakers, and guest presentation from members of Team Mike McEwen.

All games on all sheets will be streamed on Curling Canada’s alternate Youtube channel, which can be found at http://youtube.com/@curlingcanadavideo
