Team Homan/Bottcher secure 2025 Mixed Doubles Curling Trials berth with qualifier event victory

An undefeated mixed doubles qualifier performance at Guelph, Ont., last week was more than enough for Team Homan/Bottcher to earn a berth into the 2025 Mixed Doubles Curling Trials, set for Dec. 30, 2024 – Jan. 4, 2025, at Liverpool, N.S.

The powerhouse tandem of Rachel Homan (Beaumont, Alta.) and Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton) posted a perfect 6-0 record in the process, defeating Team Wasylkiw/Konings (6-3; Unionville, Ont.) 8-1 in the final.

The qualifier event victory also nets Team Homan/Bottcher a $6,500 prize, while the runners-up won $4,500. Semifinalists earned $3,000 and quarterfinalists cashed $2,000, respectively.

The third and final Mixed Doubles Trials qualifier event will take place at Banff, Alta., Dec. 5 – 8, 2024. Team Tran/Kleiter (Calgary/Saskatoon) claimed the first available qualifying event berth after a winning performance at Maple Ridge, B.C., earlier this month.
