The Royal Kingston Curling Club is a private members club that is now accepting applications for the position of Head Ice Technician. Our modern 6-sheet facility offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our dedicated team in providing an exceptional curling experience for our 600 curling members of all levels.
The position is a full-time seasonal position from September through to the end of April. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of ice preparation and maintenance and will work with our dedicated team of ice technicians to provide outstanding curling ice for our members. The club is very active with full daytime and evening curling as well as hosting bonspiels and CurlON events
Job responsibilities include
• Plant start up and Ice Installation
• Maintaining the club standards of playing conditions
• Daily Ice Maintenance
• Hiring, training and scheduling of ice maintenance staff
• Daily Ice and Plant logs
• Level II Technicians Certificate(preferred)
• End of season shutdown and ice removal
• Maintaining all ice making equipment
The successful candidate will work closely with the general manager, and operations committee to ensure the smooth running of the curling rink. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
