BKT Tires committed to curling!
BKT Tires to sponsor world championships in Canada through 2026
A tire company with a presence in more than 160 countries worldwide will continue to support world championship curling, it was announced today by Curling Canada and the World Curling Federation.
BKT Tires will continue as the title sponsor of the next three world-championship events staged in Canada, beginning with the 2024 BKT Tires World Women’s Curling Championship, scheduled for March 16-24 at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S.
“On behalf of our Board, I would like to express my gratitude for BKT Tires for their continued interest and generous support for our sport,” said Beau Welling, President of the World Curling Federation. “We are convinced that with their help, our world championships in Canada will be delivered on an extremely high standard. Thank you, BKT Tires!”
“BKT Tires has been a passionate supporter for our sport and Curling Canada’s Season of Champions, and we couldn’t be more excited to know that we will continue to be working with them for the next three years,” added Danny Lamoureux, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada. “It shows the value of curling as a sponsorship property, in Canada and around the world, and we’re happy to see BKT Tires showcased in this way.”
BKT Tires first got involved with curling in 2020 as a co-Title Sponsor of the 2020 Continental Cup of Curling in London, Ont., and since then has been involved with international curling events every year, including the 2021 and 2023 World Men’s Championships (in Calgary and Ottawa respectively) and the 2022 World Women’s Championship in Prince George, B.C.
The BKT group offers a wide and always up-to-date range of Off-Highway tires specially designed for vehicles in the agricultural, industrial, earthmoving, mining, ATV and gardening sectors. BKT’s innovative solutions designed for the most differing user needs include more than 3,200 products sold in over 160 countries worldwide. The brand counts on high visibility all over the globe, also thanks to a wide variety of sport sponsorships.
“In the world of curling, where precision and performance meet on the ice, BKT is proud to be a driving force behind a championship that unites fans worldwide,” said Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director at BKT Tires. “Our commitment to curling matches our belief in the power of sport to foster positive values and connections within society. We look forward to many more exciting moments on the ice and a bright future together with curling’s passionate community.”
“When thinking of Canada, the first things that come to my mind are its vast landscapes, friendly people and, of course, world-class curling,” added Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director at BKT Europe. “BKT’s relationship with Curling Canada is not new, and today I am really excited to say that our partnership is not only going strong, but it is getting even stronger.”
The partnership deal between Curling Canada and BKT has been facilitated by the Italian office of Havas Play, a network expert on sport marketing, branded content, influencer marketing, experiential & live activation.
