We know which countries are competing, and we know when Team Canada will be on the ice, too.

And beginning Thursday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. (all times Atlantic), Cape Breton curling fans can lock down their seats to watch the top women’s curling teams on the planet in action at the 2024 BKT Tires World Women’s Curling Championship.

The 2024 BKT World Women’s Championship is scheduled for March 16-24 at Centre 200 in Sydney, and will feature the host Canadian team and 12 other countries competing for the gold medal, as well as qualifying points for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Team Canada starts its quest for gold on the opening Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. against Sweden, and then will be back on the ice for a Saturday night showdown against Denmark. Canada’s opening-weekend slate concludes with a Sunday afternoon game against the United States.

Canada will play four-time defending world champs Switzerland in the Tuesday evening draw (March 19), and then will close out round-robin play on Friday, March 22, with games against Scotland in the afternoon draw and South Korea in the evening draw.
